Let’s get local! Easter is the perfect time to visit if you are a foodie. There is a plethora of Easter baked goods and tasty hot dishes to sample.
For meat lovers, ‘Kokoretsi’ is a traditional dish of wrapped lamb offal prepared and slow cooked on a spit. Heralding back to Byzantine times, this is a classic Easter staple worth savoring.

On the other hand, ‘Tsoureki’ is a traditional Easter bread. Heralding from Greece, this delicious treat has become a major part of the Cypriot Easter tradition. With a resemblance to french brioche, ‘tsourekia’ are prepared before Easter Sunday and served after the Lenten fast. Further more, it has become popular to add various flavours to a traditional ‘tsoureki’. You can now found them covered in white chocolate or stuffed with pistachio cream (following the latest ‘dubai chocolate’ trend).
For a more ‘Cypriot’ Easter experience, don’t forget to try ‘flaounes’. Flaounes are a cheese filled savoury part of the Cypriot Easter tradition.Traditionally these were always ‘baked’ in wood burning ovens. Families gather to prepare them. Some may add raisins, and each one is sprinkled with sesame on the folds. As long as you at least try this Cyprus specialty, you will have tasted a real Cypriot Easter. After all, Chef Z bakes our flaounes himself.
These will be served during this celebration and you can enjoy them at our midnight mass meal on 19.04.2025 at the Haven Restaurant, as well as at our Easter buffet lunch on Sunday 20.04.2025. Enjoy!
